Marcus Bastiaan is an industry advocate and Australian businessman.

Born in Melbourne, Marcus Bastiaan grew up on a farm on the Mornington Peninsula. Marcus Bastiaan completed his schooling at Brighton Grammar School in 2008 and attended Swinburne University, where he completed a Bachelor of Film and Television (BAFTV).

Marcus Bastiaan is the director of the Specialty Group that operates several companies specialising in manufacturing products for the construction industry.

The Specialty Group brands include Specialty Doors, Australia’s largest custom door manufacturer. Specialty Commercial a custom timber component manufacturer and Specialty Acoustics specialising in supplying acoustic products.

The Specialty Group owns and operates manufacturing plants in Victoria and Queensland, and dispatches products nationally through resellers.

Marcus Bastiaan appears on television and radio advocating for business owners in the forestry, manufacturing and construction industry. Marcus Bastiaan writes regular opinion pieces in the Spectator Australia on economic, industry and industrial relations policy.

Marcus Bastiaan is a member of the Timber Trade Industrial Association and Forest & Wood Communities Australia. Where he is focused on improving industry advocacy for primary producers, manufactures and builders. Marcus Bastiaan is passionate about forestry policy reform and Australia’s sovereign manufacturing capacity.

Marcus Bastiaan is married to Stephanie Bastiaan and lives in the Adelaide Hills with his five daughters: Adelaide, Madeleine, Diana, Georgia and Sophie. 

Marcus Bastiaan is a member of the South Australian Liberal Party, and former Vice President of the Victorian Liberal Party. Marcus Bastiaan is a member of the Free Speech Union of Australia and supports several spots clubs in Victoria and South Australiaa
